Domaine Ocre Rouge

About the estate

The Domaine Ocre Rouge winery is situated on the plateau of Dions in the Rhône Valley and was established in 1999. The estate covers about ten hectares of vineyards in a wild scrubland environment with soils consisting of rolled quartz pebbles and red ochre clay over hard limestone. The planted grape varieties include Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. Farming is conducted with a natural yield of 30 hectoliters per hectare at a density of 4000 vines per hectare. Winemaking relies on fermentation with indigenous yeasts, maturation in seasoned barrels, and the avoidance of fining and filtration.
