About the estate
The family-run Domaine Mathieu is led by Veerle and Jean-Louis Mathieu, who took over the estate in 1994. Located between Sierre and Chalais, the winery cultivates approximately 14 hectares of vineyards using integrated production and environmentally friendly working methods. The portfolio features traditional grape varieties and regional specialties such as Syrah, Cornalin, Petite Arvine, Heida, and Pinot Noir. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, complemented by modern cellar technology and amphorae for maturation. The wines originate from various sites in Valais and fall under the AOC Valais appellation.
The eno directory lists 25 wines, mostly from Merlot and Pinot Noir.
