About the estate
The Domaine La Varenne estate is located in Burgundy and covers two hectares of vineyards situated entirely within the village of Culles-les-Roches. Laurent Bourtourault heads the winery, producing organic wines from the traditional grape varieties Chardonnay, Aligoté, Pinot Noir, and Gamay. The diverse soils featuring clay-limestone, marl, silt, sandstone, and granite provide a geological mosaic that shapes a total of nine distinct cuvées. Aging takes place in oak barrels for ten to twelve months, accompanied by practices such as alignment with lunar rhythms and no filtration. The portfolio consists of organic white and red wines crafted with minimal interventions in accordance with biodynamic standards.
