About the estate

The traditional wine estate Domaine du Château d'Eclépens is among the oldest in Switzerland, with historical records of its vineyards dating back to 814. The vines are planted on a south-facing slope at the foot of the Mormont hill between Eclépens and La Sarraz in Vaud. The terroir benefits from a sheltered microclimate and soils composed of calcareous scree and moraine. The grape variety portfolio includes traditional cultivars such as Chasselas, Pinot Noir, and Gamay, alongside more recent varieties like Gamaret and Doral. The estate operates entirely under organic farming standards and is a member of Bio-Suisse, with all grapes harvested manually.
