About the estate
The Domaine de l'Ovaille estate is located in Yvorne in Vaud and ranks among the established wine producers of the region. The history of viticulture at the site is closely linked to a massive earthquake and rockfall in 1584 that formed the new hillside terroir. The vineyards feature soils composed of brown marly limestone and gravel with a dominance of flint. Chasselas reigns supreme on the estate, accounting for the vast majority of the vineyard area, alongside various red grape varieties blended into a barrel-aged red wine. The production includes wines carrying the AOC Chablais and AOC Vaud designations as well as the Premier Grand Cru status.
The eno directory lists 2 wines, mostly from Chasselas. The estate sells to horeca.
