About the estate
The Domaine de l'Ecu estate is located east of Nantes in the Loire Valley and produces around forty different cuvées. The winery is managed by Claire and Fred Niger and is consistently dedicated to organic and biodynamic cultivation. The vineyards have been certified organic since 1972 and biodynamic since 1998, with certification provided by both Demeter and Biodyvin. A key characteristic of their winemaking approach is the aging of a major portion of the wines in amphorae.
