About the estate

The Domaine de l'Arnesque estate in Jonquières in the Vaucluse department has roots dating back to 1846 and is managed today by the fifth generation, Marie and her husband Sébastien. The winery covers about 20 hectares of vineyards across the Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Plan de Dieu, and Côtes du Rhône appellations. The terroir at the l’Arnesque site in Châteauneuf-du-Pape consists mainly of sand, while Plan de Dieu features red clay covered with pebbles, and the sites in Orange are characterized by clay-limestone soils. Grenache is the primary grape variety, accounting for over 70 percent of the vineyards, with an average age of 50 years, complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan. The estate avoids herbicides and chemical fertilizers, practices manual harvesting, and relies on traditional vinification using indigenous yeasts.
