About the estate
The Domaine de Fontaine winery looks back on a history documented in archives since 1868, while the current vineyards were re-established in 1989 by Daniel and Michel. Today, the estate manages a total vineyard area of 9.3 hectares distributed across the AOC Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly sur Loire, and AOC Coteaux du Giennois appellations. On the steep, west-facing slopes in Mocques, Sauvignon for Pouilly-Fumé and Chasselas are cultivated on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils containing flint. Additional parcels in Saint Père are planted with Pinot and Gamay on clay and flint terroirs. The characteristic soils contribute to the distinct smoky flavor profile of the wines.
The eno directory lists 3 wines, mostly from Sauvignon Blanc and Chasselas.
