About the estate

The Chateau la Bretonniere estate is a very old property in Bordeaux dating back to the seventeenth century. The current owner purchased the property in 1992 and subsequently revitalized the vineyards, soils, and cellars. The vineyard areas feature soils composed of gravel on clay subsoil as well as clay-limestone formations. The grape varieties cultivated include Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, and Malbec. Winemaking is conducted as naturally as possible, with red wines fermented without added yeasts and racked and bottled according to lunar cycles.

The eno directory lists 5 wines, mostly from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate sells to horeca, distributors and retail.
