About the estate

The Château de France estate belongs to the oldest owners in the Pessac-Léognan appellation in Bordeaux and is managed by the Thomassin family. Taken over by Bernard Thomassin in 1971 and currently directed by Arnaud Thomassin, the property spans 40 hectares of vineyards. Thirty-six hectares are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for red wine production, while four hectares are dedicated to Sauvignon and Sémillon for white wine. The winery is situated on a gravelly terroir in the lieu-dit Ferbos as well as a fossil-rich parcel named Coquillat. Since 1996, the estate has received consulting from the Rolland laboratory.

The eno directory lists 5 wines, mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
