About the estate

The traditional Champagne J. L. Vergnon estate is located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs and looks back on a family history spanning nearly two centuries, with the winemaking having been re-established in 1950. Today, the family-run business manages plots in grand cru and premier cru locations such as Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize, Vertus, and Villeneuve. Planted exclusively with the Chardonnay grape variety, the vineyard is cultivated according to the principles of certified sustainable agriculture. Manual harvesting and gentle pressing in a traditional vertical press form the basis for the estate's characteristic champagnes. Maturation takes place in both stainless steel vats and oak barrels, followed by several years of bottle aging in the cool cellars.
