About the estate
The Champagne Drappier estate in Urville looks back on a long history that began in the twelfth century with the construction of cellars by the Abbey of Clairvaux. Founded in 1808, the family winery is today managed by Michel Drappier. Pinot Noir is cultivated as the main grape variety in the vineyards surrounding the historic cellars, complemented by forgotten varieties such as Arbanne, Petit Meslier, Blanc Vrai, and Fromenteau. The vineyards are farmed according to organic and natural principles. During vinification, the winery focuses on authenticity, very low dosage levels, and an extremely moderate use of sulfites.
