About the estate

The Champagne Billecart Salmon estate looks back on two hundred years of history in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, having been founded in 1818 through the marriage of Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon. The enterprise has since remained in family hands and is currently run by the seventh generation. The estate encompasses one hundred hectares of vineyards, while grapes are sourced from a total area of three hundred hectares across forty crus in Champagne. Cultivation extends across the Côte des Blancs, the Montagne de Reims, and the Marne Valley, featuring the grape varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier. In the cellar, the winery utilizes small temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for plot-by-plot and cru-by-cru vinification at low temperatures.

The eno directory lists 23 wines, mostly from Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The estate sells to retail.
