About the estate

The Champagne Besserat de Bellefon estate was founded by the riverside in Aÿ in 1843 and is now located in Epernay. In 1930, Victor Besserat created the Cuvée des Moines, a champagne featuring finer bubbles produced through a unique process within the appellation. The wines are crafted using a selection of grapes from more than 50 crus, with the majority originating from Premier and Grand crus. According to the Cellar Master, the avoidance of malolactic fermentation preserves the natural freshness and fruity elegance of the grape variety. The house supplies its champagnes primarily to gastronomy, hotels, and specialized wine merchants.
