About the estate

The family-owned Champagne Benoit Cocteaux estate in Montgenost looks back on a history spanning multiple generations since 1650 and is managed today by Hélène and Benoît Cocteaux. The approximately fifty-year-old vineyards are spread across the Coteaux du Sézannais, the Côte des Blancs, the Marne Valley, and the Côte des Bar. The subsoil is rich in chalk and flint, with Chardonnay dominating as the core grape variety alongside Pinot Noir and Meunier. The estate practices environmentally conscious viticulture, holds certification for high environmental value, and is currently converting parts of its vineyards to organic farming. The viticultural approach focuses on producing powerful, pure, and authentic champagnes.
