About the estate

The Casa Vinicola Pietro Nera/Azienda Agricola Caven estate looks back on a family history that began in 1940. Today, the winery cultivates approximately 25 hectares of vineyards located primarily in areas well-suited for the production of Valtellina Superiore DOCG. The focus of the estate is on the Nebbiolo Chiavennasca variety, whose characteristics are enhanced through traditional maturation methods in large oak casks. The portfolio is complemented by experimental plantings of non-indigenous varieties as well as white vinifications of Nebbiolo. In addition to its own grape production, the winery collaborates with numerous local growers and contributes to the preservation of the traditional terraced landscape.
