Bodegas Montecillo

About the estate

Established in 1870, the Bodegas Montecillo estate is located in Fuenmayor within the Rioja region and ranks among the oldest traditional wineries of the Rioja DOCa denomination. The winery manages, among other plots, a three-hectare organic vineyard situated directly in front of the estate, dedicated exclusively to the cultivation of Garnacha tinta. Guided by technical director and enologist Mercedes García Rupérez, the production philosophy emphasizes freshness and pure fruit expression with a restrained use of wood. The underground cellars house historical vintages alongside a traditional manual bottle-stacking area utilized for long-aged wines.
