About the estate
The family winery Bodegas Domeco de Jarauta was established in 2005 by José Vicente Domeco de Jarauta in Aldeanueva de Ebro in Rioja, drawing on a family viticultural tradition dating back to the nineteenth century. The estate cultivates one hundred hectares of vineyards featuring the typical varieties Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano on clay-limestone soils with abundant rounded pebbles. These old, low-yielding vines are managed with minimal preventive treatments close to organic practices, and all grapes are harvested manually by hand. Vinification takes place in advanced stainless steel tanks, followed by barrel aging in a cellar containing over seven hundred French, American, Russian, and Romanian oak barrels.
