About the estate
The Bodega Martinsancho estate located in La Seca looks back on a long-standing history dating back to 1780, originating from a winegrowing family whose tradition reaches into the 17th century. The winery played a pioneering role in the establishment of the Rueda DO denomination and the preservation of the Verdejo grape variety. The vineyards are cultivated according to traditional, organic, and sustainable practices, featuring the emblematic pre-phylloxera vineyard El Pago de Martínsancho planted in the 19th century. Harvesting is conducted manually to guarantee optimal fruit condition upon arrival at the winery. Vinification takes place within an underground cellar excavated by hand during the Middle Ages, housing traditional oak vats.
