About the estate

The Batthyány estate in Rechnitz, Eisenberg, was founded in 2015 by Count Ivan Batthyány and his wife Countess Carolin Batthyány, reviving a centuries-old family tradition. The winery cultivates 3.5 hectares of vineyards in the Rindler location, which is characterized by mineral soils and a distinct microclimate. Grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Blaufränkisch, and Merlot are grown on the plots. Farming follows ecological and biodynamic guidelines with heavily reduced yields. The wines are created through elaborate selective production on small terrain.
