Über den Betrieb
Das Weingut Howard's Folly Wine hat seinen Ursprung in der hochgelegenen Region Portalegre im Alentejo, wo kühlere Klimate eine langsame Reifung der Trauben ermöglichen. Gegründet wurde der Betrieb im Jahr 2005 von Howard Bilton und dem Winzer David Baverstock, um den Charakter des portugiesischen Terroirs mit internationaler Vision zu verbinden. Die Weinkellerei befindet sich in einem historischen Gebäude in Estremoz und arbeitet mit kleineren Tanks, um unterschiedliche Reserve- und Premiunstile getrennt auszubauen. Ein zentrales Merkmal des Unternehmens sind die kunstvoll gestalteten Etiketten, die oft von Gewinnern der Sovereign Art Foundation oder weltbekannten Künstlern stammen.
Im eno-Verzeichnis sind 24 Weine erfasst, überwiegend aus Touriga Nacional und Syrah. Der Betrieb beliefert Distributoren und Gastronomie. Exportiert wird unter anderem nach Belgien, Georgien, Vereinigtes Königreich und Deutschland.
