About the estate
The Weinhof Ettenauer estate located in Höbenbach cultivates around four hectares of vineyards in sites such as Leithen, Gottschelle, and Himmelreich around the Göttweiger Berg. The origin of the business traces back to a decades-long agricultural tradition where the focus shifted towards grape production over the generations. On the sandy loess-loam soils, main varieties such as Grüner Veltliner alongside Müller-Thurgau, Yellow Muscat, Rhine Riesling, Red Veltliner, and the red wine variety Zweigelt thrive. From pruning to harvesting, management involves intervening as little as possible in the natural balance while avoiding glyphosate and insecticides. The wines are vinified in a winery put into operation in 2014 that integrates into the traditional four-sided courtyard.
The eno directory lists 6 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. The estate sells to horeca.
