About the estate

The Weller-Lehnert estate in Piesport-Niederemmel on the Mosel is managed by the Matheus family, who took over the winery in 1991. In 2021, their sons also joined the business after completing their studies in oenology and viticulture in Geisenheim. The vineyards are located in renowned sites such as the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Domherr, Falkenberg, and Treppchen. Alongside the primary focus on Riesling, the estate cultivates various Pinot varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, as well as red grape varieties like Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Dornfelder. In the vineyards, the winery emphasizes natural and sustainable management practices combined with moderate yields to produce distinctive wines with prominent minerality and fruit in the cellar.
