About the estate
The St. Nikolaus-Hof estate in Leiwen on the Moselle was founded in the early 1960s by Lieselotte and Nikolaus Schweicher and is now managed in family succession by Annegret and Klaus Schweicher. The winery cultivates 7.5 hectares of vineyards, with more than 95 percent planted with Riesling. The vineyards are located in the Leiwener Klostergarten, Leiwener Laurentiuslay, and Trittenheimer Apotheke sites, which are characterized by clay and slate soils. The estate focuses on environmentally friendly, organic soil management and quality-oriented vine pruning. In the cellar, the wines undergo gentle processing and are given time to mature slowly in stainless steel tanks or small wooden barrels.
The eno directory lists 4 wines, mostly from Riesling and Pinot Blanc. The estate sells to horeca.
