The Schmitges estate looks back on a long history with first mentions dating back to 1744 and specializes in steep-slope viticulture along the Mosel. The winery focuses on deliberately low yields, ungrafted vines, and careful, gentle vinification. The cultivated sites include the well-known Erdener Treppchen, Erdener Prälat, and Lösnicher Försterlay vineyards.
