About the estate
The property, built in 1704 by Count von Ostein, is located along the Elsterbach in Geisenheim in the Rheingau. Around 1800, the mill passed to Christian Ostern and has been owned by the Daniel family since 1869. Following an agricultural phase involving livestock farming, the estate fully focused on viticulture in the late 1980s. Situated between Johannisberg and the Marienthal Monastery, the Weingut Ostermühle estate now produces Rheingau wines. In addition to wine sales, the family also runs a seasonal tavern.
The eno directory lists 5 wines, mostly from Pinot Noir and Riesling. The estate sells to horeca.
