About the estate
The Lutz winery is located in the historic center of Großostheim and is run by Frank Lutz, continuing the work of his grandfather who founded the estate in 1947. The vineyards are situated in the Harstell and Reischklingeberg sites on variegated sandstone weathering soils and loess-loam soils. The cultivation includes classic grape varieties such as Bacchus, Scheurebe, various Pinot varieties, Pinot Noir, Domina, and Dornfelder. For management, the estate relies on hand-harvesting, careful vine care, and modern cellar technology for vinification. The portfolio ranges from dry and semi-dry Franconian wines to high-quality late harvests.
The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Pinot Noir and Müller-Thurgau.
