About the estate
The Leipold family winery is run by Peter Leipold in the twelfth generation in Volkach in Franconia. The vineyards are mostly located in the Obervolkacher Landsknecht as well as in the steep slopes of the Escherndorfer Lump. The soils of the region are characterized by the meeting of Keuper and shell limestone as well as a high clay content. These geological and climatic conditions give the wines their characteristic, powerful and long-lived style.
