About the estate

The Weingut Kaspar Herke estate in Oestrich-Winkel looks back on a family history dating back to the 17th century and is currently run by Caroline and Lukas Herke in the thirteenth generation. The winery cultivates around twelve hectares of vineyards with fourteen different grape varieties, with a strong focus on white wine. The vineyards are located in renowned sites such as the Oestricher Doosberg, Assmannshäuser Höllenberg, Winkler Dachsberg, and Winkeler Hasensprung. There, deep soils consisting of gravelly loess, loess-loam, and marl combined with a mild climate shape the character of the wines.
