The Weingut Karlsmühle estate in Mertesdorf on the Ruwer looks back on a history as a family business dating back to 1803 and has been managed by Simon Geiben since 2025. The estate cultivates 15 hectares of vineyards in steep slate sites on both sides of the Ruwer river. The portfolio primarily features old, deep-rooting Riesling vines alongside Pinot varieties and other grape types. The unique microclimate of the narrow valley with hot days and cool nights shapes the character of the wines.
