About the estate

The Jürgen Ellwanger winery in Winterbach cultivates 26 hectares of vineyards spread across five municipalities, with a focus on environmentally friendly management. Each individual site features a distinct terroir, while the estate's production consists of 65 percent red wine and 35 percent white wine. The main grape varieties grown are Riesling, Lemberger, and Trollinger, alongside international varieties such as Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay, as well as Zweigelt, which was introduced over 30 years ago. To maintain high quality standards, yields are partially reduced by more than 50 percent.
