About the estate

The Weingut Gräff-Schmitt located in Ingelheim am Rhein in Rhenish Hesse is managed by the Malchus family across more than five generations, with three generations currently working together. The estate cultivates a vineyard area of 20 hectares in sites such as Ingelheimer Burgberg, Sonnenhang, Rotes Kreuz, Pares, Schloßberg, Steinacker, and Lottenstück. The soils range from light sand to heavy loam, which, combined with a mild climate, provide the basis for growing 18 different grape varieties. Great importance is attached to a sustainable approach to nature, gentle soil management, and careful vineyard maintenance throughout the entire year. Following its origins as a bulk wine producer in 1900, the estate transitioned to bottle wine sales and is operated jointly by the family.

The eno directory lists 16 wines, mostly from Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. The estate sells to retail.
