About the estate

Located in Ürzig on the Moselle river, the Weingut Derkum estate has been run as a family business for generations. The vineyards are situated in steep locations with a gradient of up to 65 percent, which are characterized by slate soils. Low yields, a long vegetation period, and intensive manual labor result in elegant and characterful wines. In the cellar, temperature-controlled fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees to preserve freshness and aromatic compounds. In addition to wine production, the property also includes a guesthouse with a wine tavern.
