About the estate

The Bus winery in Insheim is run in the seventh generation by Carsten and Sandra Bus, with the family's winemaking tradition dating back to the late 16th century. Cultivation takes place on typical local soils such as sandy loam, loamy loess, and pebble ground in the Kitzelgrund vineyard site. The estate manages every step from the vine to the bottle with great care, utilizing natural yeasts as well as aging in steel tanks and barrique barrels. The portfolio is divided into different lines ranging from uncomplicated daily wines and distinctive regional wines to complex premium wines from yield-reduced parcel selections. Additionally, sparkling wines are traditionally fermented in the bottle.
