About the estate

The Weingut Born estate cultivates its vineyards in Höhnstedt according to organic guidelines with the goal of producing sustainable and characterful wines. The family's winemaking tradition dates back to the middle of the 18th century, while the modern winery was established in 1990 by Günter Born. Since 2010, Elisabeth and Jochen Born have been running the estate and contributing new ideas. The portfolio includes estate, regional, and single-vineyard wines marketed as Deutscher Qualitätswein. Furthermore, the winery is part of the Breitengrad 51 association, through which allied wine estates jointly set quality standards along the Saale and Unstrut rivers.
