About the estate
The Bernd Schäfer winery is located at the southern edge of Edenkoben directly amidst the vineyards and is run as a family business by viticulture technician Bernd Schäfer across many generations. A total of six hectares of vineyards are cultivated with the main white grape varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, alongside the red varieties Pinot Noir, Merlot, Dornfelder and Portugieser. The vineyard management is environmentally friendly, and the wines are produced entirely in-house from cultivation to aging. In the historic vaulted cellar, the wines ferment and mature through extremely gentle handling, prolonged lees contact, and great care and intuition. The portfolio ranges from fruit-driven dry quality wines to noble sweet Beerenauslese.
