About the estate

The Weingärtnergenossenschaft Rohracker cultivates around four hectares of vineyards in extreme steep slopes in Stuttgart-Rohracker. Viticulture has been practiced in this traditional cultural landscape for over 800 years, characterized primarily by historic dry-stone walls and nutrient-rich Keuper soils. Cultivation takes place on 95 percent terraced steep slopes and relies predominantly on laborious manual labor without heavy machinery. The 24 winemakers cultivate traditional grape varieties as well as fungus-resistant grape varieties such as Souvignier gris and Cabernet jura. The estate aims for the sustainable preservation of this valuable cultural and natural heritage.
