About the estate

Established in 2001, the Weinbau Herbert & Martina Matz estate is a small winery managed exclusively by family members and is located between the foothills of the Leitha Mountains and the northern shore of Lake Neusiedl. The vineyards feature a high planting density, cover crops, and vines that are in part around 50 years old, and are farmed sustainably without the use of chemical fertilizers, insecticides, or herbicides. Following careful yield reduction and manual harvesting, the wines are crafted in the cellar with great sensitivity and minimal technology. The portfolio ranges from dry, fruity white wines to full-bodied red wines, some of which are aged in barriques.
