About the estate

The Czech estate Vinařství Obelisk was founded by František Fabičovic in Valtice within the Morava wine region, following the historical work of the Liechtenstein family. Across a vineyard area of approximately 40 hectares, the estate cultivates vineyards on the southwestern slope featuring calcium-rich loess soils. The portfolio includes traditional regional grape varieties such as Green Sylvaner, Welschriesling, and Pálava, alongside international varieties like Pinot Noir, Blaufränkisch, Riesling, and Chardonnay. The vineyards are farmed ecologically as mixed garden vine cultures, and the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. In the cellar, the winemaker focuses on the natural maturation of the wine supported by modern technical aids without chemical adulteration.
