About the estate

The German VILLA HUESGEN - Weingut winery cultivates steep vineyards along the Mosel with slate soils that impart a characteristic expression to the wines. The portfolio includes the Trabener Würzgarten village site as well as the Enkircher Steffensberg, Enkircher Zeppwingert, and Ürziger Würzgarten grand cru sites. In the steep-slope and terraced Enkircher Zeppwingert vineyard, ungrafted vines over 55 years old are farmed predominantly organically and entirely by hand. The combination of a cool climate, diverse slate soils, and old vines yields complex and long-lived Rieslings.
