About the estate
The wine estate Terre di Melazzano in Toscana was founded in 1959 by Piero Giulio Falciani. The property encompasses 22 hectares of vineyards in Greve in Chianti. Since 2012, both the vineyards and olive groves have operated under EU organic farming regulations. The parcels feature Galestro clay soils and southwest-facing hillside expositions. Winemaking utilizes stainless steel tanks and traditional concrete vats, followed by maturation in wooden barrels, barriques, and tonneaux. The estate is listed in the Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico. The portfolio comprises 6 wines produced from Sangiovese, Merlot, Colorino, Cabernet, Trebbiano, and Malvasia grapes. Key styles include a sulphite-free Chianti Classico named Riscoperto, a Riserva aged for two years in barrique, a Gran Selezione, and the sweet Vin Santo. Distribution is conducted through direct sales.
The eno directory lists 6 wines, mostly from Sangiovese and Merlot.
