About the estate
The Tenuta La Ponca estate is situated on the hills in the locality of Scrio on the northwestern borders of the Collio in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The vineyards grow at altitudes between 200 and 300 meters on soils formed by stratifications of marl and sandstone that encourage deep root growth. The proximity to the Julian Prealps and the Bora winds provide significant temperature ranges and healthy clusters. The winery practices organic farming, maintains traditional Friulian terraces, and applies a minimal human intervention. These methods yield mineral and flavorful wines within the Collio DOC appellation.
