About the estate

The Tenuta di Aglaea Società Semplice Agricola estate is situated on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily and is led by Anne-Louise Mikkelsen. Spanning 3.5 hectares of vineyards, the property includes distinct sites such as Passo Cannone and Santo Spirito characterized by porous volcanic soils of lava and ash. The vineyards lie at altitudes between 700 and 800 meters above sea level and are planted exclusively with the Nerello Mascalese grape variety. Viticulture relies on the traditional alberello training system with high plant density and very low yields per vine. The resulting wines, produced under the Etna DOC and Sicilia DOC denominations, reflect the cool mountain climate and unique terroir of the region.
