About the estate
The Stift St. Peter estate looks back on a long history that began in 1042 with a donation to St. Peter's Abbey in Salzburg. Following historical destructions caused by wars and fires, only the old vaulted cellars survived the times. Today, the winery cultivates an area of eight hectares of vineyards located in the Alsegger-Rieden in Vienna. On nutrient-rich sand and loess soils in south-facing locations, the varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Müller Thurgau are grown. The wines are served, among other places, in the estate's own traditional tavern.
