About the estate
The Stein winery in Sankt Aldegund on the Mosel was founded in 1948 by Heinrich and Erna Stein from modest beginnings and has been managed by their sons Ulrich and Peter since 1982. The family's ancestors had already been active in viticulture and wine trade since the 16th century. On 6.5 hectares of vineyards in steep slate sites such as the Sankt Aldegunder Palmberg-Terrassen and Alfer Hölle, 90 percent Riesling is cultivated alongside Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. In the vineyard and cellar, the wines undergo a natural and environmentally friendly production process.
