About the estate
The Späth estate cultivates vineyards around Großkrut, Althöflein, and Ginzersdorf on loess soils and sandy shell limestone. The family-run winery relies on careful and responsible vineyard management without the use of pesticides. Weed control is carried out entirely mechanically to protect the soils and bees. The grape harvest is processed in the press house at the Kellerberg, where natural gravity allows for gentle handling of the must. The subsequent aging and maturation of the wines take place in a two-level vaulted cellar.
The eno directory lists 13 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Chardonnay. The estate sells to retail. Export markets include Slovakia, Czechia and Germany.
