About the estate

The Czech family estate Rodinné vinařství DeVino was founded in 2012 by Richard and Kateřina Šemík in Chvalovice within the Morava wine region. The production focuses on small batches of terroir-driven wines matured in a cellar that is at least one hundred years old. The portfolio is divided into different collections, offering everything from fresh wines vinified in stainless steel tanks to barrel-aged wines, natural wines, skin-contact orange wines produced in qvevri, and pét-nats. All work from grape processing to bottling is carried out independently, sourcing grapes from long-standing, small regional growers. The vinification relies on minimal use of sulfur, often incorporating extended lees contact and batonnage.

The eno directory lists 19 wines, mostly from Rulandské Modré and Merlot. The estate sells to retail.
