Pongratz Franz

About the estate

The Pongratz winery, located in South Styria, is managed by Franz and Carmen Pongratz and looks back on a long family tradition with vineyards that have been family-owned since the 17th and 19th centuries. The vineyards are situated in the municipality of Gamlitz on the Labitschberg and Jägerberg sites. The estate places great emphasis on natural farming methods, voluntarily refraining from the use of herbicides, insecticides, and botryticides for years. In the cellar, the wines are processed gently and fermented in stainless steel tanks as well as partially in French oak barrels, with a primary focus on classic vinification. The portfolio of the estate is complemented by typical fruit brandies produced from its own orchards.
