About the estate
The Poggio Bonelli & Chigi Saracini winery looks back on a long history during which it was owned by several prominent Sienese families. Historical owners included the Spennali family in the Middle Ages, the Piccolomini family in the late 16th century, and the Croci and Landucci families throughout the 17th and 18th centuries. Eventually, the property passed to the Chigi Saracini family, with Count Guido Chigi Saracini as its last and sole heir. Following his death in 1965, MPS Tenimenti, the agricultural company of Banca Monte Dei Paschi Di Siena, took over the management of the Fattorie Chigi Saracini located in Castelnuovo Berardenga in Tuscany.
The eno directory lists 3 wines, mostly from Sangiovese and Merlot.
