About the estate
The Piano Grillo S.r.l. estate is situated on the Pianogrillo hill in the province of Ragusa in Sicily and looks back on a history spanning centuries. Originally built as a watchtower in the Middle Ages, the structure was transformed in the eighteenth century into a manor house in the style of Ragusa featuring a family chapel and tuff vaulted cellars. Today, the historic property is managed as a modern farm by Baron Lorenzo Piccione di Pianogrillo, the last direct descendant of the barons Piccione di Grassura e del Molino d'Immezzo. The total cultivated area covers over 80 hectares.
